Hi there, I am Lukas

Career focus: a project manager. A parent. An expat currently based in Berlin, Germany.

Several years ago I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Germany wasn't in the master plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.

The initial months were demanding— unfamiliar processes, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.

Why I Built PebbleHazeHeath

Most online resources were either workplace relocation guidance or superficial travel content. What was lacking was a candid everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to bridge that gap— practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Germany.

What This Site Is About (And What It Isn’t)

This site IS:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated whenever a real change occurs

This site ISN'T:

  • Not a tourism board resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not merely a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our time in Germany continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Lukas
